Ben Tetro is an artist and designer whose furniture, sculpture, and objects are known for their fluid lines and graceful craftsmanship. He works with a wide range of materials—from wood to cast aluminum, cement, plaster, and glass—testing the boundaries of form and function while striving to remain true to their integrity and inherent beauty. As a result, his designs inspire curiosity and interaction, and bring a fresh perspective to the spaces they inhabit.
Ben's artistic vision was shaped by his boyhood on Bailey Island, Maine, a coastal town known for boat builders, lobstermen, and an abundance of natural beauty. Making things with his hands, using honest materials, has always been part of his life—a tradition carried down through the generations. A childhood visit to Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic Fallingwater house in Mill Run, Pennsylvania, also proved pivotal.
“I’ve always been drawn to design that is highly distilled and considered,” he says.
